La Cevicheria - Sandy Bay

Image
A new restaurant in Sandy Bay!!!  Sandy Bay is a long stretch on the north west side of the island.  It has a lot of vacation rentals and houses, but very few restaurants.  I saw someone on Facebook post about this place and decided to try it.  First of all they only take cash and I forgot to bring some with me so I had to drive 2 miles into town to get some.  The Circle K here does not have an ATM! The food was great and we will definitely go back.  Greg ordered the shrimp tacos.  You get 4 of them for $11.  I ordered the onion ring hamburger.  I asked for the onion rings on the side instead of on the burger.  I'm so glad I did, they are some of the best onion rings I've ever had.  They are breaded, not battered with lots of seasoning in the breading.  Everything was delicious!  The burger was $9.  They also had ceviche of course, but that's not our thing, but I heard it's good also.

Tijuana Tacos - West End

Image
I've seen a few posts on different facebook sites about how great this new taco stand is.  I thought we would try it for ourselves.  The owners are from Tijuana and moved here 6 months ago.  The taco plate comes with 4 tacos.  We got the mixed tacos - two fish and two beef.  It was small corn tortillas with the meat and that was it. ($12)   We also ordered the chicken quesadilla  ($8) and that came with a side of pico de gallo and some kind of avocado sauce.  They also serve their own homemade sauce that they put on the table.  The food was tasty but I think you get more meat at other taco places.  Kristi's has Tuesday tacos for $3 each and they have more in their tacos.   The tables were right on the sand - so it has a nice view.
