Fort Consolation - Coxen Hole

Fort Consolation used to be an old fort that turned into a restaurant.  When we first moved here, it had been closed and for sale.  Now it's a restaurant and on certain days of the month they host a craft fair.  We stopped for lunch and really enjoyed it.  The restaurant was upstairs with a great view of the harbor.  Today there was only one cruise ship in this port. ( I've seen as many as 3 in one day.)

I ordered the Chicken Fajita Plate ($12) and Greg ordered the Greek Shrimp Pita with french fries ($12).   The food was good and we will probably go back when they have their 2 for $25 pizzas, although I don't know what we are going to do with all that pizza.  They do have room for improvement.  The shrimp pita was supposed to come with shrimp, olives, feta cheese and lettuce, they forgot the feta cheese.  The french fries were the standard ones you can buy in bulk.  My CHICKEN Fajita came with a small side of refried beans and pico de gallo and 3 very small flour tortillas, the portion of meat/pepper/onion filled up more than 6 of the flour toritllas - yes I asked for more and they brought them.  If you notice in the picture the chicken was steak.  I ordered the chicken because it was $2 less than the steak, so I didn't mind the difference.  The unique thing this restaurant did was mix in the cheese with the fajita meat.  It was all nice and gooey from the heat.  Delicious!  The only thing I would have liked to seen was some sour cream on the side.

The restaurant has a large dock that you can swim off of and the water was very clear with coral and fish you could see from the dock.  We might go back next time and snorkel there.
