Seawiches - West End

 So we were tying to find a local place that was supposed to have great pizza.  Couldn't find it and ended up tryin a new place that just opened up a few months ago located right next door to the Chocolate Factory.  Its actually a lounge and they have local musicians in the evening.  We were there at lunch time and it was half full, the owner ran around barefoot which I thought was funny.    They don't take credit cards and the prices were a little more than what we were expecting to pay so I ordered the appetizer of hummus and pita bread  and Greg ordered the fish tacos.  He had 3 tacos on his plate and there was a lot of fish on it.  My hummus was good, but it could have used a little garlic or more paprika.  

On a side note - the Chocolate Factory used to have Indian food and they don't anymore - now we know why, the person probably moved over to this restaurant. lol

Roberto's Burritos in West End

 We've driven past this cute little building several times, but finally made  a point to stop in and check it out.  The building used to be a Meat market but now they serve tacos and burritos.  I had heard that they had large portions, so we split something, decided to order the biggest burrito on the menu. lol  It's the Carnita,( $12)  it had steak, chicken, rice and beans and a few other ingredients.  We also ordered a side of chips and salsa ($2).  The brought out the chips and salsa first.  The salsa was great, just a little spicy, but not enough that I couldn't eat it (I'm a wimp with spicy foods. )  Then before we had made a dent in the chips, here come our burrito.  I took pictures of both, but had to add my Pepsi in for a size reference.  The burrito was huge, bigger than my forearm.  Glad we split it.  Everything was delicious, but next time I might just stop in for their dessert.  It's chips with sugar ...

Snakes in Roatan!

 I had heard there were snakes on the island.  Hawaii has none!   We found this little guy winding it's way across our parking lot at the condo.  We had a bunch of groceries so I didn't think of taking a picture of it until a few minutes later and by then it had moved it's self under some bushes.  It is only about a foot in length.   I can honestly say that I have not seen a snake in the wild in over 30 years.

Lawson Rock Deli and Market - Sandy Bay

 Sandy Bay takes up a lot of area on the west side of the island.  Part of that includes the exclusive subdivision of Lawson Rock.  They have a condo building with a deli/market inside.  We've driven past hundreds of times and finally decided to check it out.  It's a cute little deli that serves breakfast and lunch.  They also sell meats and cheeses like an old fashioned deli, plus gifts! We ordered the lunch specials.  One Lasagna plate with salad and the other was their chicken & rice dish that was served with a side of coleslaw (odd combination).  Both were delicious!  The lasagna was $10 and the chicken/rice was $7.20.   We'll be back!
